We’ve all heard the song right? The one that goes “they will know we are Christians by our love, by our love…”
Well…
Do they?
Do people know you are a Christian by how you love?
I’m not convinced people know that about me and I’m not convinced everyone would know that about us as the church…
I’m not talking about the kind of love you can buy in a hallmark gift card that cost $.89, no, I’m talking about the kind of love that causes you to constantly give of yourself, the kind of love that wears you out because you give so much and the only way you can make it through the day is because our great Father and the people He puts around you pour the same kind of love on you every moment of everyday.
Do we love like that?
This is somewhat of a challenge to us Wesleyans…
Let people know who you are by the love you show them…
It’s easy to love our friends but how about…
“The least of these”
Our enemies
Those who “persecute” us
Let’s change how the world sees Christianity, let it be said of us that we loved till we had no more love to give…and then loved some more.
Allow love to radically change your day to day encounters…
Just something to think about
